EASY TO MAKE RINGS: HOW TO MAKE DIY FLOWER CABOCHON RINGS
Last year I came across the cutest little sticker flower cabochons. I loved the colors and I simply adored how they were different shapes. Naturally, I had to purchase them. I knew immediately that I wanted to make rings with them, so I grabbed the supplies I needed to make some.
Months passed and I forgot about them. When you love crafting, you tend to buy things knowing what you’ll do with them, but you often place the items in your supplies storage and forget about them… OUPS!
Last week, Gabrielle was going through my crafting stuff and came running to me with the flower cabochons. “Mom, we were suppose to make rings with these!” haha OUPS! I agreed to take out the supplies immediately so that we could make them right away. This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
HOW TO MAKE DIY FLOWER CABOCHON RINGS
I opted to use Hot Glue instead of Jewelry Glue because my daughters were making some too. Jewelry glue fumes can be quite strong and I rather keep the girls away from it, also I know stuck fingers are more likely to happen. If I was making the rings on my own, I would have used jewelry glue for its more permanent bond.
Step 1: We started off by removing the flower cabochons from the plastic packaging they were attached to.
Step 2: The flower cabochons I had purchased were actually stickers, so we had to remove the sticker backing from each flower.
Step 3: We took out all the different ring bases I had. You’ll notice that I had a variety of sizes. Since the flower cabochons are quite large, I was able to use all the ring bases I had, even the ones with really large pads. The pad is where you would apply the bond between the ring and the component you wish to attach.
Step 4: We took out our hot glue gun and got to work attaching the flower cabochons onto the ring bases. We applied a small amount of hot glue onto the ring pads and placed the backing of the flower cabochons over it. We pressed the flower cabochons into place and held it for a few seconds.
